Brian Bristol
Managing Director, Investment Banking
Prior to joining WR Hambrecht + Co in February 2004, Brian was a Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking for SoundView Technology Group. Brian originally joined SoundView from Salomon Brothers, where he was a Director and Co-Head of the Technology and Aerospace/Defense Group in investment banking. Prior to Salomon, he was Vice President of the Technology Group at First Bostons investment banking unit. He began his career on Wall Street with Smith Barney. Brian received his B.A. from Yale, an M.A. and Ph.D. from Princeton and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
James Donohue
Managing Director, Investment Banking
Jim is a member of WRH+Cos Technology Investment Banking team. Prior to joining WRH+Co, Jim was a member of SoundView Technology Groups Software & Services Investment Banking Group, where he worked on a variety of transactions including public offerings, private placements and M&A. Prior to joining SoundView, Jim worked in a variety of technology and operations related positions at Chase Manhattan Bank. Jim holds a B.A. in International Affairs from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. from the Stern School of Business, New York University.
Robert Eu
Managing Director, Investment Banking, Asia
Robert Eu joined WR Hambrecht + Co in April 1998 from H&Q Asia Pacific, an affiliate of Hambrecht & Quist, where he co-founded and was the Managing Director of the Hong Kong office. Prior to H&Q Asia Pacific, he was the Business Development Manager for a manufacturer and retailer of Chinese medicine, a company on which he led a buy-out in 1996. Robert also spent five years working for Citibank in the Private Banking Group in Hong Kong. Robert is a graduate of Northwestern University with a B.A. in History. Robert has extensive experience is advising companies on strategic and financial solutions in China. While Robert is based in San Francisco, the majority of his time is spent in China and other parts of Asia.
David Marcus
Managing Director Auction Products
David brings a combination of entrepreneurial expertise and financial industry background to WR Hambrecht + Co . He founded and built two companies; WorldStreet, a CRM and peer-to-peer communication platform for the financial services industry, acquired by Thomson Financial in 2002 and Grupo Arca, a direct marketing firm for the US Hispanic market. In addition, David has spent over 15 years in the institutional equity markets, most recently as a Senior Vice President at Lehman Brothers in New York and prior to that at ING Barings and Bankers Trust Company in London. David received his B.A. in Political Science from Boston University.
Matt Regan
Director of Brokerage Services
Prior to joining WR Hambrecht + Co in 1999, Matt was at Fiserv Securities, formerly BHC Securities, where he worked on a number of interesting projects including the development of the OpenIPO auction for WR Hambrecht + Co. Matt is a graduate of St. Michael’s College, University of Toronto, and received a master’s degree from Villanova University.
Whitney J. White
Chief Technology Officer
Whitney joined WR Hambrecht + Co in April 2000 from Merrill Lynch where he worked on strategic projects in their Capital Markets Technology group. In his tenure at WRH+Co, Whitney has been central to the execution of all auction transactions. In his role as Chief Technology Officer, Whitney led the evolution and development of the firm's auction technology In his current role in the Auction Products Group, Whitney is responsible for auction mechanics and transaction execution. Whitney graduated with honors from Hamilton College with a BA in Computer Science and Psychology and holds dual MBA degrees from Columbia University and the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
Michael Zigman
Managing Director, Investment Banking
Michael Zigman is a Managing Director and heads WRH+Cos Software, Internet & Communications Investment Banking Group. Michael has spent 13 years serving technology companies, with product areas that include mergers & acquisitions, public offerings, private equity and other advisory roles. Prior to WRH+Co, Michael was a Managing Director at SoundView Technology Group where he ran the firms East Coast Software & Services Investment Banking Group and where he completed over 50 transactions. Michael came to SoundView in 1994 from Dean Witter Reynolds, where he was an early member of that firms technology investment banking group. He holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College.
